Nexus Tribe Takes to the Park

This week’s Nexus Tribe session had a bit of everything: shared food, shared decisions, and a spontaneous detour that turned out to be the highlight of the day.
We started off by prepping lunch together – chicken wraps, easy and satisfying – and took some time to check in as a group.
When it came to planning the rest of the session, there was some healthy back-and-forth. Should we go for a bike ride just around Burgess Park? Or loop out a bit further towards Elephant and Castle? After some debate, we landed on something in between.
Our leader Karl suggested we ride over to the football pitches in Burgess Park, where the Bethwin 10–13-year-olds were playing in a tournament run by Active Communities.
It turned out to be a great decision. Watching those kids play pulled us all in. We cheered from the sidelines and got caught up in the match, seeing them in their element and giving it their all.

This session showed us that a great day out doesn’t need perfect planning – and reminded us of the joy that comes from following the energy where it leads and cheering each other on.
Want to join us next time? Whether you’re into food, fresh air, or just finding your people – our vibrant inclusive group Nexus Tribe meets every Wednesday from 7-9:30pm at Bethwin Adventure Playground (4 Bethwin Road, London, SE5 0YY) and is open to 16 to 20 year olds. Find out more here.
