During Family Connect Children learn Self-regulation (understanding emotions, calming strategies like breathing, movement, sensory tools), Making friends (practicing turn-taking, sharing, starting conversations, understanding boundaries), Building confidence and Body awareness.

For the Adults, while the children are playing you can relax, chat, doodle, do nothing and, if you want, explore with other parents and NDFH staff practical strategies to support emotional regulation at home, managing dysregulation, understanding sensory needs and how to respond, creating routines that reduce anxiety, building communication and connection, even when it's hard, looking after yourself as a parent/carer – because your wellbeing matters too.  There will be time for questions, sharing, and learning from each other – because every family is different, but none are alone.

Embrace the joy of togetherness, foster meaningful connections and celebrate the unique strengths of every family member. Let’s create lasting memories and a supportive community, one Sunday at a time.
