What is Circle time?
At 12pm, we will gather together for Circle Time – a special space for connection, learning, and shared understanding. There will be two circles running at the same time: one for the children and one for the parents and carers.
-> For the Children
Circle Time will be gentle, inclusive, and playful, with activities designed to support:
- Self-regulation (understanding emotions, calming strategies like breathing, movement, sensory tools)
- Making friends (practicing turn-taking, sharing, starting conversations, understanding boundaries)
- Building confidence (celebrating strengths, using visuals and stories to explore challenges)
- Body awareness (using songs or movement to explore how emotions feel in the body)
- Social stories and simple role-plays to explore daily experiences and transitions
We use visual aids, simple language, and sensory-friendly resources to make sure every child can feel safe and included.
-> For the Adults
While the children are in their circle, parents and carers will have their own supportive space, where we explore:
Practical strategies to support emotional regulation at home
- Managing meltdowns
- Understanding sensory needs and how to respond
- Creating routines that reduce anxiety
- Building communication and connection, even when it's hard
- Looking after yourself as a parent/carer – because your wellbeing matters too
There will be time for questions, sharing, and learning from each other – because every family is different, but none are alone.
