Susan Young
Parent Consultant - Mindfulness & Early Years Specialist
For the past 19 years, I’ve been dedicated to working with children and families as a qualified Early Years Educator. Over that time, I’ve worn many hats:
- Running my own childminding practice
- Leading community playgroups for parents and children
- Supporting children in schools and nurseries (as both Room Leader and Assistant Deputy Manager)
- Working in a hospital setting with children facing eating difficulties
- Providing trusted, nurturing care as a nanny
- Walking alongside parents to offer guidance, reassurance, and strategies that help family life flow more smoothly
Through all these roles, one passion has always been at the heart of my work: supporting parents as much as children. Because when parents feel confident, calm, and connected, children thrive.
In recent years, I followed another passion that had always called to me: mindfulness. I trained and qualified as a Mindfulness Teacher, and today I integrate mindfulness into all of my early years and parent support work.
Now, as a Parent Consultant, I bring together my decades of early childhood experience with the practices of mindfulness. My approach helps parents:
✨ Build calmer, more connected relationships with their children
✨ Navigate challenges with patience and clarity
✨ Model emotional regulation in everyday life
✨ Create nurturing spaces where both parents and children can grow
I believe in real-life parenting — not perfection. My role is to walk alongside parents, offering tools, understanding, and compassionate support that fits into daily life.
I’m so excited to share my journey and continue supporting families both in person and online
