2024 Summer Programme

Social Summer Fun for Everyone!

We are delighted to share our programme of upcoming summer activities for young people and families, which are now available to book online.

Nexus Tribe for 16- to 25-year-olds

For young people aged 16 to 25, we will be running Nexus Tribe, a vibrant inclusive social group.

  • We will be meeting every Thursday from 11-2pm from 4th July to 29th August at Bethwin Adventure Playground (4 Bethwin Rd, London SE5 0YF).
    • Each session will include fun activities such as snooker, table tennis, arts and crafts, and board games, as well as the creation of a wellbeing toolkit and support with preparing for our next best steps in life, such as CV writing.
  • We will also be going out and about on selected Mondays and Tuesdays over the summer as follows:
    • Tuesday 16th July: We will meet at Bethwin Adventure Playground at 4:15pm and take the bus to go for a picnic near the Thames and watch Back to the Future at The Scoop open air cinema. We will catch the bus back together to return to the adventure playground by 9:15pm at the latest.
    • Tuesday 30th July: We will meet at Bethwin Adventure Playground at 11:45am and take the bus to go for a picnic at Vauxhall Pleasure Garden and watch Kung Fu Panda in the open air cinema.
    • Monday 5th August: We will head to Somerset House for a relaxed visit to The Lore of LOVERBOY exhibition. This is the first exhibition on international fashion powerhouse Charles Jeffrey LOVERBOY, which celebrates 10 years of club to catwalk in 2024.
    • Tuesday 27th August: We will unleash our creativity and explore our inner artists in an art workshop guided by an art tutor.

All of the above sessions are now available to book via Eventbrite, and we hope to confirm some additional Tuesday activities soon. All sessions are donation based and you will need to bring your own packed lunch.

My Tribe Teen for 11- to 18-year-olds

We will be offering three days out for young neurodiverse people aged 11 to 18 over the summer holidays as part of our Summer SEND sessions:

  • Monday 5th August: Visit to Tower of London. We will have the opportunity to take a guided tour and immerse ourselves in the Tower’s rich history and architecture. We will have our own private room for our young people to escape the crowds should they need to. Weather permitting, we will also take some time to relax in the gardens and hopefully enjoy the sun, eat our packed lunches and maybe even sketch the Tower! Click here to book
  • Thursday 8th August: We will go Mountain Biking in the forest. We will travel out of our usual Central London into the peaceful and beautiful Kent countryside. Join us for a thrill-seeking mountain bike adventure in the heart of nature! Click here to book
  • Wednesday 28th August: Trains, Tubes and Travel. We will indulge in a day of exploration with train and travel enthusiasts. We will ride the tube, take a few trains and meet some train drivers who will tell us a little about their job. We may even get the opportunity to look inside the tube cabs and understand how they operate! Click here to book

Family Connect for all the Family

We will be holding monthly gatherings where families with neurodiverse children come together to play, bond and thrive. This is an opportunity for your whole family, including non-neurodiverse children, to spend two hours engaging in games, creativity, play and connection.

All sessions will run from 2-4pm on Sunday afternoons at Mint Street Adventure Playground in Borough SE1 1QU. Activities will be provided for all ages! The next session will be taking place on Sunday 21st July. Click here to book

Connection for Parents and Carers

Over the summer, we will also continue to hold our regular monthly term-time sessions for parents and carers of young people with a neurodiversity. Upcoming sessions are as follows:

  • Coffee Connect, a free, informal drop-in session at our office on 56 Southwark Bridge Road, SE1 0AS. Join us for a cuppa and a chat from 8:30 to 10:30am. The next session will be taking place on Friday 5th July.
  • Walk and Talk, an opportunity to join us for an informal discussion while exercising in the fresh air. You are welcome to keep silent or share your joys and sorrows, with no pressure either way. We will be departing from Mint Street Park in front of the gate to the adventure playground at 12:15pm, returning by 1:15pm. The next session will be taking place on Thursday 11th July
  • Wisdom and Wonder, an online themed lunchtime talk with other adults. Our next session will be taking place from 12:30 to 1:30pm on Friday 19th July. In this upcoming talk we will be delivering an EHCP (Education, Health and Care plan) masterclass. We will explain what an EHCP is and share advice on how to navigate the system.
