Summer Events at The Neurodiversity Family Hub
The Neurodiversity Family Hub is run by and for neurodiverse people, so we have a good understanding of the joys and challenges of the summer holidays. We know it can be a time for children to relax and be themselves, but it can also be hard work for parents and carers, who often need a holiday more than anyone! And while the little ones may be happy with a park and an ice cream, tweens and teens can be harder to please.
Neurodiversity Family Hub's summer programme to the rescue!
With that in mind we have put together lots of exciting opportunities this summer for families with neurodiverse children and young people from 10-18 years old, whether they like being outside in nature, taking part in sport, being on the water, or being creative indoors.
Our activities help children and young people build confidence, develop friendships and have fun in an environment that celebrates neurodiversity.
Out in nature

There's so much research on the calming effects of being in green space. Our nature-based activities provide a chance for kids to let off steam and learn something new at the same time.
Maybe your kids would like to celebrate the freedom of the holidays by running a bit wild? If so, how about a forest adventure for 10-18 year olds on 24th July?
Perhaps you would like to learn more about our native wildlife on a bat walk? Did you know you can have an encounter with these amazing animals without even leaving Southwark? Join us on 19th August for a walk at dusk, the best time to see these amazing, often misunderstood creatures and get a bat’s view of your local area.
Sports, games and creativity
On 24th August the Chill, Olympic Games and Art has something for everyone age 10-18 years old, whatever their level of energy, sportiness or creativity.
The family kayaking session is back by popular demand on 29th August. It's a chance to have fun on the water together in a safe and welcoming environment. What a great way to stay cool in the hot weather.
Ongoing activities
Nexus Tribe, the club for 16-25 year olds, will continue to run on Wednesdays with games, chat, and sharing the preparation and eating of a meal. A great way for young people to socialise and build independence.
On 26th July we have Drawing Connections, one of our regular sessions for neurodivergent young people over 16 who love to express their inner artist. Enthusiasm essential, talent optional
