Sun, Spaghetti Towers & "Cold Penguin" - Another Fun Monday at MJT!

The sun came out for Monday's My Junior Tribe (MJT) session, making it a perfect afternoon to welcome some new faces to our tribe. The children quickly got involved in all the fun, making bracelets and rainbow keychains and exploring the outside area.

For those who’ve been coming a little longer, it was lovely to see them confidently choosing how to spend their time playing trains, bonding over board games like snakes and ladders, and some wonderfully creative moments at the arts and crafts table.

Our group activity this week was building towers made out of spaghetti! We made triangles to create a solid foundation, and used marshmallows and blu tack to fix our structures together.

To get the group energised, we played a lively game of "Cold Penguin" (our chilly twist on the game Hot Potato!). Then we practiced travelling across the mat in all sorts of different ways: hop, skip and jump, hotscotch and even rolling.

As the session started to wind down, we brought out the parachute. Lots of laughter ensued as the children took turns to run underneath it, before sharing their feelings and tidying up ready for home time.

As always, our session ended with a strong feeling of connection, having made many happy memories along the way. We can’t wait to do more fun activities together next week.

Join us next time? My Junior Tribe takes place every Monday during term time from 3:30-5:15pm in Mint Street Adventure Playground, Borough SE1.
